1 Please pray for Alison Talbert, working at Kilifi hospital and medical research centre. Thank God for the opportunities Alison has to be a Christian witness to her fellow staff. Pray for Alison to have opportunities for sharing her faith with those around her.
2 Please pray for Joe Hadfield who will be leaving to go on a 10 month SMILE placement to Nairobi, Kenya this month. Pray for safety for Joe as he lives and works in Nairobi and that he will be an encouragement to the people with whom he will work with at Carlile College and in the Kibera slum.
3 Pray for Alan Mabey, a NEXT volunteer who will be going to the Kampala Evangelical School of Theology (KEST) for a return placement this month. He will be there for four to six weeks. Pray for him as he re-establishes friendships and helps with different tasks at the college.
TANZANIA

4 Thank God for Bishop Boniface Kwangu, who has been Bishop of the Diocese of Victoria Nyanza since November 2007. Pray for wisdom for him in his leadership role in a diocese that has suffered in recent years. Pray for him to stand firm against opposition and to know God's presence and guidance daily.
5 Pray for David Green, working in Tabora Diocese where he is teaching English at the Bible School. Pray for stamina for David as he teaches in the afternoons, and pray for him to have wisdom and creativity in his teaching.
6 Pray for Carol Derbyshire who is teaching English at Msalato Theological College, near Dodoma. Pray for her as she manages the team of English teachers and as she builds relationships with the new intake of students who started in August.
7 Pray for Bob and Jane Hurley who are working at Morogoro Bible College. Pray for them as they continue to grow in confidence in Swahili and for Bob as he teaches at the col- partlege. Pray for them as they are separated from their children during term-time, especially for Jane who sometimes finds it difficult being so far from them.
8 Please pray for the Diocese of Morogoro where a new bishop is being elected. Thank God for the work of Bishop Dudley Mageni over many years and pray that the new bishop will be the right person for the role.
THE GAMBIA

9 Pray for Stephen Kormaya, leader of the student movement, GAMFES, in The Gambia. Pray for the development of the GAMFES resource centre, which is a Crosslinks project. Thank God for the vision to equip Christians in The Gambia with resources to enable them to be able to proclaim the gospel amongst their own people.
TOGO

10 Pray for the work of Sena and Jane Ounate-Lare and Benoit and Melanie Ahonsou who are working in Dapaong. Thank God for the church planting work that is going on together with discipleship. Pray that Christians will be strengthened in their faith and that they will stand firm against the temptations of traditional religions and superstition.
THAILAND

11 Please pray for Pat Riley, a NEXT volunteer, who is hoping to travel to Thailand for two weeks where he will be teaching English to the Karen people living on the Thai/Burma border. Pray for safety for Pat and especially for good health and stamina in the camps.
CROSSLINKS
12 Please pray for the church planters' conference taking place in Sheffield. Pray that it will be a time of learning and fellowship for the Crosslinks Associate church planters who will be attending. Pray for those speaking at the day, that God will use them as they lead their sessions.
13 Please pray for Sonia Candish, a NEXT volunteer flying out today to join the Arise project which works with vulnerable children in South Africa. Pray that Sonia will settle in quickly and build good relationships with the staff and children at the project.
14 Pray for Krista Potts, Crosslinks NEXT Co-ordinator who will be going on a trip to Ethiopia and Uganda for three weeks. Her trip will combine visits to mission partners, study partners and potential projects for future NEXT placements. Pray for energy and strength for Krista on her trip, and that it will be a beneficial visit to further the work of the NEXT programme.
15 Please pray for Jirka and Keira Kralovi with their four children who went to work in Olomouc in the Czech Republic at the beginning of July. Pray especially for Keira as she learns the language and finds friends. Pray for Jirka as he gets involved in student work on the university campus.
16 Please pray for the Crosslinks residential General Council today and tomorrow in West Wickham. Pray for the Council as they make decisions about the direction of Crosslinks. Pray for wisdom and guidance for them from the Holy Spirit as they discuss the agenda items and make their decisions.
17 The Crosslinks Former Missionary Fellowship and Annual Meeting of Members is taking place today at St Michael's Church, Chester Square. Pray that a good number of members will attend the meeting and that it will be a positive time of fellowship and business.
MOZAMBIQUE

18 Pray for Richard and Bianca Reeve returning to Mozambique this month after nine months in the UK. Pray for them as they start a new placement, working with an organisation called One Challenge. Richard will be travelling in Mozambique giving seminars to church leaders.
19 Please pray for Peg Cumberland, working as a community health worker in the Diocese of Niassa in Mozambique. Peg's work is very demanding and she does a lot of travelling so please pray for strength and stamina for her each day and that she will be able to take the necessary time to rest when she needs to.
INDIA

20 Please pray for Chandigarh Bible College in India and the teaching staff there, some of whom Crosslinks support. Pray for the students to be equipped effectively through their studies and for the staff to teach relevantly and faithfully.
21 Pray for Kachhwa Transformational Ministries (KTM) in India, another of Crosslinks' projects. Pray for Raju and Catherine Abraham who lead this project. Thank God for the large number of people becoming Christians and for the church planting programme and leadership training that is part of KTM.
22 Pray for Katy working with children in India, that God will encourage her in her work and provide her with good friends. Pray that she will know God's presence with her and that she will be patient with learning the language and building relationships.
23 Please pray for Harshit Singh, a Crosslinks study partner who has recently begun studying at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in the United States. Pray for him as he adjusts to being a student again and settles in to his new environment.
EUROPE

24 Pray for Steve and Dawn Orange and their four children. Steve and Dawn are working in an evangelical church in Brussels. Please pray for Steve as he works as part of the team of elders, after successfully completing his year as an 'elder in training'. Pray for Dawn as she builds relationships with other mothers and juggles church and family life.
25 Pray for the country of Belgium where the evangelical Church is small and the society is a very secular one. Pray for Belgian Christians to be brave and bold about sharing their faith and for opportunities to invite their friends to church and evangelistic meetings.
26 Please pray for Ben and Rachel Curry who are leaving for a ten month SMILE placement this month to work with Andy and Uta Buckler in Mantes-la-Jolie in France. Pray that they will settle in well, build good relationships with the Bucklers and church members and that they will be used by God as they serve the church in different ways.
27 Please pray for Henry and Dinah Shaheen, working with Assyrians in West London. Pray for perseverance for Henry and Dinah and for God's protection of them as they do this work.
AUSTRALIA

28 Pray for David and Rachel Williams, with Tom, Sam and Jonathan in Australia. David is working for CMS Australia, involved in the training of staff and mission partners and helping the organisation with their strategy. Pray for them as a family as they continue to settle in to life in Australia.
29 Thank God for CMS Australia and for Crosslinks' relationship with them. Thank God for the sharing of information between the societies and pray that the two societies will continue to encourage each other to fulfil their vision.
TANZANIA

30 In the last issue of Prayer News we wrongly implied that Fiona Richardson worked at the Amani Bible College. In fact, Fiona is a Youth and Children's trainer, working with the Youth department and the Mother's Union in the Diocese of Ruaha. Please accept our apologies and pray for Fiona in her own special ministry.
