CROSSLINKS
1 Pray for Giles Rawlinson, the new Operations Director, as he continues to get to grips with his new role. Pray for wisdom for him as he works alongside the leadership team and oversees the different areas of work he is responsible for.
2 Thank God for Miriam Pike, the Church Partnerships Team Coordinator, who is leaving Crosslinks at the beginning of August. Thank God for her great contribution to the work of Crosslinks and pray for her as she moves to Birmingham to work as a student worker in a church.
3 Thank God for Simon and Lindi Banda, Crosslinks apprentices from South Africa. Thank God for Simon having completed the Cornhill Training Course, and pray for him as he hopes to finish his Masters course next year. Pray for Lindi as she continues with Cornhill for one more year.
4 Thank God for all those who volunteer to help out in the Crosslinks office. Pray that Crosslinks might be a place where volunteers feel welcomed and valued for the time they give and work that they do for the organisation.
5 Pray for Mission Director Andy Lines as he takes some holiday this month. Pray that he will be refreshed and renewed as a result of his time away and that he will return to the office with new energy and vision for his work.
6 Thank God for the visit of the Bishop of the Diocese of the Arctic, Andrew Atagotaaluk and his wife, Mary, to the Crosslinks London office today. Pray for wisdom for Bishop Atagotaaluk in his leadership role in the Anglican Church.
7 Please continue to remember the people of China, still recovering from the aftermath of the earthquake in Sichuan Province. Pray for those who are working in relief and development to help rebuild the areas which were affected by the earthquake. Pray for the people who have suffered loss of family and homes, that they will receive the help they need.
UGANDA

8 Pray for new mission partners Craig and Claudia Smith with Leo and Bethany who flew to Uganda on 4 August. Craig will be involved in teacher training in Kabale and Claudia will be involved in children's ministry. Pray for them as a family as they settle into their new home and start work.
9 Please pray for Dan and Rosie Button, with Abigail and Alex, working at Uganda Christian University just outside Kampala. Pray for Dan as he teaches Theology and oversees the General Subjects courses at the university. Pray for Rosie as she teaches and looks after the family and that God will give her the strength she needs for each day.
10 Pray for John Patterson, who is working in Hoima, and has been involved with Theological Education by Extension and in chaplaincy work at a local teacher training college. Pray for John as he also helps the diocese with drawing up plans for developing its Training Centre.
11 Pray for Steve and Gwyn Smith with Joshua and Matthew in Kampala. Steve is working with Advancing Ministries of the Gospel and also teaching at Kampala Evangelical School of Theology. Pray for Steve as he juggles work and family life and for Gwyn as she runs a nursery in their home. Pray for them as a family as they still grieve the loss of Gwyn's father at the end of last year.
12 Please pray for Robert Byarugaba, from the Diocese of Kigezi, a Crosslinks study partner studying at Uganda Christian University for two years. Pray for Robert in his studies, that he will be able to work hard and apply what he is learning to his ministry once he has finished the course.
UNITED KINGDOM

13 Pray for John and Phyll Chesworth, and Ida Coffey, working with the Solomon Academic Trust, running the Centre for Muslim Christian Studies in Oxford. Pray for John and Ida as they teach in theological colleges and for Phyll as she helps with the administration of the project.
14 Pray for Dawn Styles working in Hastings, doing English teaching amongst many refugees there. Thank God for Dawn's great gift of evangelism. Pray that she will continue to build relationships with her students and that she will have opportunities to share the gospel with them.
15 Pray for Gilbert and Uzma David, working at St Paul's Church, Slough. Pray for them as they reach out to their Asian neighbours, that God will use them and that they will be encouraged in their work, which is often slow at showing fruit.
16 Pray for Pam Chandra, working as a Crosslinks Associate in Birmingham. Pam has got a part-time job as administrator at her new church centre. Pray that she will be used by God in her job at the church, and pray for wisdom and strength for her as she brings up three teenage sons on her own.
17 Pray for David and Betty Payne as they look towards retiring as mission partners with Crosslinks in October. Thank God that David has been able to hand over his work at Arocha to a successor, and pray for David and Betty as they look to the future and the next stage of their lives.
THAILAND

18 Thank God for Peter and Ineke Cook, who are working at Christ Church, Bangkok. Thank God for the work being done amongst the children in the church by Ineke, and especially for the Alpha courses being run there. Continue to pray for strength and energy for Peter and Ineke and for people to be found to work alongside them in their ministry.
19 Pray for the preparations for the first short-term SMILE team to Thailand in January 2009. Pray for Chris Jennings as he co-ordinates all the preparation for that team visit and thinks through the practicalities.
EUROPE

20 Thank God for John-Paul and Susan Aranzulla who flew to Bologna, Italy at the beginning of August. John-Paul will be pastoring a small evangelical church in Bologna and teaching at a Theological Institute in Padua. Pray for them as they settle into their new home and build relationships with their congregation members. Please especially remember Susan as she continues to learn Italian.
21 Pray for the country of Italy which is very secular in its worldview. Many Italians are very cynical about the Church. Pray for the removal of the multiple barriers that conceal a true understanding of the gospel.
22 Pray for Chris and Lizzie Brown currently studying at Belfast Bible College and hoping to go through Crosslinks selection to be mission partners in 2009. Chris and Lizzie want to be involved in student work in Italy. Pray for them as they talk with IFES about possible openings there.
23 Pray for Jonathan and Jessica Heeb, with John-Paul and Nathan, working in Helsinki, Finland. Jonathan is involved in preaching at the International Evangelical Church and teaching in a Bible School. Jessica is involved with music at the church and doing one-to-ones with students. Pray for them as they work out what their priorities should be, and pray for good and deep friendships for them both.
24 Pray for Edward and Laura Nelson with their three children working as Crosslinks Associates in Paris. Edward is pastor of a church plant and is also involved in the evening congregation of a Baptist church. Thank God for the people they have seen recently coming to faith in Christ and pray that these new Christians will go on with the Lord. Thank God for the provision of finances to help renovate the church plant building.
KENYA

25 Thank God for Sandy and Andy Morgan and for Phil and Sarah Baskerville, who have been working as Crosslinks Associates at St Andrew's School, Turi in Kenya. Both families will be returning to the UK this month. Pray that they will readjust to life in England and that God will provide for all their needs in this time of transition.
26 Please pray for the orientation course which will be taking place this week for five SMILE volunteers and one NEXT volunteer going to South Africa in September. Pray for those speaking at the orientation course, and for the candidates, that they will have a beneficial time of learning and fellowship.
27 Pray for Tim Wambunya, Principal of Carlile College in Nairobi. Pray for guidance for Tim as he leads the college and makes plans for its future. Pray that he will work well together with his colleagues and that the work will continue to flourish.
28 Thank God for Doug and Ann Johnson, working in Butere with the African Institute for Contemporary Mission and Research. Thank God for the preaching week at St Paul's College, Limuru, from 11- 15 August and pray that the fruit of the teaching will be long lasting.
29 Pray for all the Crosslinks study partners at St Paul's College, Limuru. Pray for them as they continue in their studies, that they will persevere and be motivated to learn, and that God will give them the strength and help they need.
30 Pray for Archbishop Nzimbi as he leads the Anglican Church in Kenya. Pray for wisdom for him at this turbulent time in the Anglican Communion. Pray that he will remain faithful and obedient to God and to His Word.
31 Pray for Rob Martin and his wife Sue preparing to go to the north of Kenya as Crosslinks mission partners in October. Rob has already been consecrated as Suffragan Bishop of Marsabit. Pray that God will equip them for the task He has called them to do.
