AFRI CHANDRA ( - 13 May 2006)
Afri Chandra had a burning zeal for sharing the Gospel. His longing was that everyone, especially those from the Asian community, should have the chance to hear about Jesus Christ’s love and forgiveness. He first served with Crosslinks in Birmingham, working with the Other Faiths team, and then moved with Pam and the boys to Kenya where he worked with Asian-African Concern Kenya (ASCKEN). Afri went on to complete an MA in Missions in Nairobi, at the same time finding other opportunities for outreach.
The family returned to the UK in 2003 and Afri became involved in pastoring the Asian congregation of the Streatham Baptist Church. He and Pam also ran two discipleship groups in Birmingham for recently converted Asians. During this period he battled with serious illness and died on 13 May 2006. As we rejoice that he is now with his Lord, please pray for Pam, Simeon, Judah and Benji
